This article on Business Innovator highlights Algeo's parent company, Choy Lee Tech Limited, a trailblazer in the realm of renewable energy, specifically focusing on their contributions through BioMass technology. In a world grappling with energy shortages, the pursuit of renewable energy sources has become more critical than ever.
"In the current world facing energy shortages, renewable energy is a solution. Renewable energy includes hydro, solar, wind, geothermal power, and the BioMass technology researched by Profit Technology Limited. Each has its advantages and limitations, primarily geographical restrictions that hinder their widespread adoption and replacement of fossil fuels.
Co-founder Dennis Poon introduced the company's founders: Dr. Luo Gang, a former senior research director at the National Laboratory of the University of California, Berkeley; Dr. Hung, with extensive experience in green energy and a long tenure as an environmental manager at the Hong Kong Science Park; Mr. Chan Bun Man, a former Zurich Insurance CMO, and Dennis himself with six years of work experience at Pfizer in the U.S., later returning to Hong Kong for innovation work.
Most microalgae cultivation is done outdoors, facing limitations like geographical factors and infections that rapidly reduce microalgae quantities. Dehydration post-cultivation is needed for microalgae to become a renewable energy source, but this process is energy-intensive, hindering the mass production and popularization of BioMass renewable energy.
Dennis highlighted their technology's use of sterile conditions and AI to control cultivation fluid, providing optimal nutrient ratios to microalgae. They can cultivate around 2.5 million microalgae per milliliter, a 20-fold increase overcoming past production issues.
Co-founder Dr. Hung added that their GreenForce platform increases production by 20 times compared to traditional methods while reducing electricity consumption by 60%. Incorporating IoT and AI technologies reduces manual labor, lowering costs and increasing market share. GreenForce can be used anywhere without significant geographical constraints, contributing to ecological improvement globally."
