Indigenous cultures in Canada have a deep connection to the natural world, grounded in respect, stewardship, and spiritual ties to land and water. These relationships shape their identity and preserve knowledge passed down through generations. Working closely with Indigenous leaders, Algeo developed a prototype community space that reflects these values, incorporating artistic storytelling inspired by Indigenous narratives and symbols celebrating nature and resilience.
